The social media is booming, and is changing the news in the world. Twitter and Facebook reported earlier then CNN that Michael Jackson died or that in Iran is a revolution. The social media starts to be more faster and efficient then any other newspaper in the world.
The World Association of Newspapers is coordinating a campaign to demand compensation from Google and other search engines for unfairly exploiting newspaper, magazine and book publishers’s content, according to the Financial Times (via MediaBuyerPlanner).[1]
Today on Twitter you can find out news faster then on newspapers or TV.
Clay Shirky [2] has a great TED talk about how the social media is making history by helping citizens report the real news in the world. It’s a perfect TED talk after all the events happening this days in Iran and Moldova. I love how Shirky is showing us the history of news and how big is the social media today.
